The Hunger Games

by Suzanne Collins

We will be reading The Hunger Games during the second quarter of the school year, after we finish reading Homer's The Odyssey. Many of you have either seen the movie, already read the book, or both, so consider this a refresher in the plot while you learn about specific themes and issues concerning the text.

Yes, we will watch the movie adaptation after we finish reading the book. However, we will be taking a test on the book first as to avoid conflicting details between the book and the movie. DO NOT RELY ON THE MOVIE FOR THE TEST. You will have to read the book to do well on the test!

*Attached PowerPoints will be discussed in class.
